What is the purpose of having my toes flexed during a foot massage>?
I get my feet massaged on a regular basis, and I always enjoy my feet being massaged, (foot massages are wonderful) and it feels great on my feet. One massage therapist, who massages my feet, also flexed my toes back and forth. What she does is presses them back hard, but firm, (It doesn’t hurt) and as she holds them back this stretches my leg muscles, and she asks me to press on her hand, and both leg muscles stretch out which feels very good on my leg muscles, then she would curl them and ask me to do the same, and this stretches my muscles out again. What is the purpose of this? I enjoy doing this, and it does feel good on my lower leg muscles, it is like almost like stretching out before you go for a run, but what is the main purpose, would this make my toes stronger?

What is the Education difference between a Massage Therapist and a Physical Therapist?
I understand that a Massage and Physical therapist are two different occupations, but what degrees do you go through that are different for each? I’ve looked it up, and it says for a Massage Therapist, all you need is a certificate/degree in Massage work. I find that hard to believe, and was wondering if there was something that the internet lacked to tell me?

How do I apply for a massage therapy license in Canada if I am already licensed in the United States?
I am currently a licensed massage therapist in the state of Florida but am planning to move to Montreal, Quebec (Canada). I would like to know how to apply for a Canadian massage therapist license via reciprocity. If you can also give me the link to the Canadian Board of Massage Therapy, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

How much to tip a massage therapist when I go to her home?
My massage therapist quit the spa she used to work for, and now takes clients in her home.
I don’t mind tipping at a spa, because she probably only gets an hourly rate and most of the cost of the massage goes towards the facility’s rent/electricity/supplies, etc.
My question is: If I am going to her house for a massage, how much (if any) do I tip? She gets 100% of my fee, so is a tip necessary?
