Massage area with warm coffee grounds and then wrap area with plastic wrap to keep grounds on skin for 10 minutes. Or just massage for 10 minutes.

a little lesson on cellulite: women have connective tissue that lines the inside of the skin. most women have ‘honeycomb’ shaped openings in this connective tissue. when adipose tissue (fat) builds up under the connective tissue, it pushes up into it and what you see is that dimpling or ‘cottage cheese’ look on the skin.

while some people have said that massage helps, the medical jury is still out on that…a lot of times the only real way to reduce cellulite is to reduce the fat tissue in that area (and don’t feel bad, there are plenty of 100 lb women out there with cellulite!!). The massage that spas offer for cellulite are usually deep tissue massages with certain herbs they rub into the skin to ‘tighten’ the skin. I’m pretty skeptical about ‘easy’ solutions such as that – but even if it did work, it would be difficult to recreate that at home.

Actually it’s brushing that helps. You use a hand brush made for cellulite,it’ll be made of natural hairs, sometimes cactus fibers. Rubbing vigorously and then using cellulite-decreasing preparations will help reduce the appearance of cellulite. My sister does it and it’s made an amazing difference.

It doesn’t work, you need to diet and exercise. Try the south beach diet, it’s awesome I lost 30 lbs and my mom lost 60 lbs. Give it a shot!

The massage therapist is probably at least expecting the same amount that you paid for her services while working at the spa. If, however, her fees are dramatically lower, and/or your massage experience has dramatically decreased because she is no longer in the spa setting, you should feel comfortable with offering the same pay for what may be the same service; just a different location. Try not to look at it as a Fee + Tip. Pay a set amount for what you think the new service and location is worth compared to what you were paying before.

While she is getting the whole fee – a good percentage of that goes towards business expenses. Bills, bookkeeping, advertising, repairing/replacing equipment, linens, oils. She’ll also have to save some each month for taxes at the end of the year since they’re not deducted.

That said as a Massage Therapist myself, who is self employed through a Clinic – tips are never ever expected or requested – however, always appreciated. Do what makes the most sense to you, and what you’re most comfortable with.

I am a massage therapist and I also take clients in my home.
I do get 100 percent of the fee but there is alot of labor work using the body. a tip is not required but it is appreciated and we are providing a service. 10-15 dollars is acceptable

In your case I don’t think a tip is necessary. If it’s an exceptionally good massage, you could give her a 20% tip, but I don’t think it would be expected or required.
